Pushup Challenge: Vet Raising Money for Veterans

August 26, 2024

(Magnolia’s Jarrod Brown, who served in Iraq)

What’s this guy up to? Jarrod Brown, MPT’s vice president of administration, knows the challenges that many U.S. military service members and their families face, so he wants to raise awareness, needed funds and do a few thousand pushups or so.

It’s part of the “Pushup Challenge” through the Boot Campaign, which raises awareness for issues that present and past military members face as well as providing assistance to service people and their families. Jarrod has his own page set up, so people can make online donations: https://www.crowdrise.com/jarrodbrown  pushupsforcharity2/fundraiser/jarrodbrown.

The rules are pretty simple: for every dollar pledged, Jarrod must do a push up with his military boots on.

“Frankly, I hope I become as sore as hell,” Jarrod says. “I’m asking people to pledge to the campaign either online or the day of the event, but if they want to come in and also challenge me to the most pushups in 90 seconds, I’m up for it.”

The pushup challenge event will take place at three Magnolia Physical Therapy clinic locations (2525 Jena Street NOLA 70115; 5606 Jefferson Highway, Harahan, LA 70123 and 2372 St. Claude Ave, STE 264, NOLA 70117) from 10 am to 2pm on Friday, July 31.

Jarrod’s page is up and active, so please make a donation. We will serve refreshments on the day of the event, so you can have a little snack while watching Jarrod doing pushups.

It’s for a good cause, and Jarrod is “pushed up” about it.
