We find the joint that stopped allowing motion.
Range you stop using doesn’t come back on its own. Manual therapy is skilled hands on the joint that stopped allowing it, and the tissue holding it there.
What It Is
When one joint stops allowing its full range, everything around it adapts. Muscles guard it, the joint above works overtime, and the pain you finally notice is usually the compensation rather than the cause.
Manual therapy is the hands-on answer to that. A licensed physical therapist works out which joint or tissue is holding, then treats that one thing: graded joint mobilization to restore the glide, soft tissue work to release what tightened around it. Every other hands-on service here is a narrower version of this skill.
When Beth Winkler and Lisa Taglauer opened in July 2005, the dream they wrote down was a practice where patients would get at least 30 minutes of personal manual therapy instead of being parked on a machine. Twenty-one years later, that intent is still why a therapist has hands on you and not just eyes on a rep count.

What It Helps
You’re the one everyone else leans on, so you adapted instead of asking: other arm, other side, one step at a time. Which is exactly why nobody has looked at the joint yet.
What A Session Looks Like

Hands on that joint and the tissue holding it.

You use the new range before you leave.
Why It Works
Restores motion your exam says is missing.
Aimed at one restriction, not the whole region.
Makes the exercise that follows possible.
Nothing happens without your say-so.

Questions, Answered
You should feel pressure, stretch, and often relief as a stiff joint starts moving again. It is not meant to be painful. Your therapist tells you what is about to happen before it happens, and you can stop any technique at any point.
No, and the license is different too. Massage works broadly across muscle to bring tension down, and here it is delivered by a licensed massage therapist. Manual therapy is a licensed physical therapist treating one joint or tissue restriction found in your evaluation, paired with movement in the same visit so the range you gain has a reason to stay.
It is billed as part of a physical therapy visit, so it follows the same benefits as the rest of your plan. We check your coverage before your first session and give you a plan with an endpoint, so you are not signing up for an open-ended standing appointment. Questions before then?
