Where we start
Pain
Calm the pain down.
Manual therapy settles the irritated tendon at the elbow or wrist, and where it fits, dry needling releases the forearm muscles pulling on it.
What We Treat
The jolt when you grip something. A forearm that quits halfway through stirring a pot. A hand that goes numb overnight. A cause-first evaluation finds where it actually starts, which often isn’t where it hurts.
Sound Familiar?
Two or more? You’ve typed, gripped and lifted through this because the work doesn’t stop for it. That’s exactly why it’s still here, and exactly why you’re reading this.
Why It Happens
Your hands repeat the same few motions thousands of times a day, and tendons only tolerate that for so long. Four things drive most of what we see. Repetitive gripping, lifting and weight bearing through the wrists, until the tendons stay inflamed instead of recovering overnight. A setup that keeps your wrist bent or your elbow leaning on something hard for hours. A fall onto an outstretched hand, which can crack a small wrist bone that is genuinely easy to miss. And arthritic change in joints small enough that a little swelling costs you a lot of function.
Numbness and weakness are a different story. When a nerve is compressed somewhere along its path, at the neck, the elbow or the wrist, the symptoms turn up in your hand while the problem sits further upstream. That’s why rubbing the sore spot rarely changes anything, and why our evaluation checks the whole path, from the neck to the fingertips, before anybody treats a thing.
The Honest Truth
Nobody regrets starting too early. Count how many things you now do with the other hand, then ask what another six months of that looks like.
How We Fix It
Every plan has an endpoint. Here’s what our four-phase program looks like when the problem is your elbow, wrist or hand.
Where we start
Pain
Manual therapy settles the irritated tendon at the elbow or wrist, and where it fits, dry needling releases the forearm muscles pulling on it.
Once the pain settles
Prime
Wrist, elbow and finger motion come back first. Where numbness or weakness points at a nerve, nerve conduction testing here tells us where along its path it’s being pinched, instead of guessing.
Once motion returns
Perform
Grip and forearm strength rebuilt in the positions you actually use: gripping, twisting, carrying, and typing through an afternoon without paying for it that night.
Before we sign off
Prevent
Your workstation, how you grip, and how you add load back on, so the tendon stops getting reloaded before it has healed. That’s the endpoint.
When I first started I had numbness and loss of strength in my left arm. Besides being scary, it also had a huge effect on my life and daily routine. I’m so grateful for their help and all!

Questions, Answered
For most tendon pain, no, and waiting on a scan just delays the start. Two situations are different. If you fell onto an outstretched hand, a small wrist bone can be cracked without looking dramatic, and that needs ruling out. And if you have numbness or weakness rather than pain, nerve conduction testing tells us where along the nerve the trouble is. We can do that testing here, and we only order what would actually change your plan.
Rest alone rarely fixes a tendon, because the tendon got sore from being under-prepared for the load, not from being used at all. Stop using the arm and it gets weaker, then the same task hurts again the day you go back to it. Loading it correctly is the treatment. A licensed physical therapist works out which grips and motions to keep, which to modify for now, and how to add load back, then adjusts as the arm earns it.
We won’t put a number on it before we’ve looked at your arm, and anyone who does hasn’t looked. What you get instead is a plan with an endpoint. After the evaluation you’ll know what’s causing the pain, which of the four phases you’re starting in, Pain, Prime, Perform or Prevent, and what has to be true for you to be finished. You’ll always know where you are in that plan and what’s left, instead of booking appointments indefinitely.
