Pelvic floor therapy in New Orleans.

Leaking, pelvic pain, pregnancy and the long recovery after birth. All treatable, all one-on-one in a private room, and none of it something you have to live with.

What It Is

It is a muscle problem. Muscle problems get treated.

If you have been told this is just what happens after a baby, or after fifty, that was wrong. The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that holds up your bladder and bowel and works with your core. Left alone, the list of things you skip only gets longer.

Those muscles can be weak. They can be holding far more tension than they should. Or they can simply be out of sync with your breathing and your deep abdominals. Which one it is changes the treatment completely, so the evaluation comes first and the exercises come after.

All of it happens one-on-one in a private room with a licensed physical therapist. Everything is explained before it happens and goes only as far as you agree to. Magnolia is independent and women-owned, and this is one of the services where that shows.

What It Helps

What this treats, plainly.

You’re the one who keeps everyone else’s appointments, which is why this is the one that waited. And pelvic symptoms rarely travel alone: the low back and hips are usually part of the same story.

Low back pain that arrived with pelvic symptoms Hip and pelvic joint pain on one side Pelvic pain that has lasted months Leaking when you cough, laugh, or lift A core that never came back after birth Pain with sex that nobody has explained

What A Session Looks Like

We talk it through in a private room.

Why It Works

Why this works when kegels didn’t.

It treats the muscles, not just the symptom.

Too tight and too weak get opposite treatment.

Private room, one therapist, no audience.

You decide how far treatment goes.

Questions, Answered

Asked quietly, answered plainly.

Mostly talking, in a private room, with the door shut. What is happening, when it happens, what you have already tried. Then we look at how your trunk, hips and breathing work together. If an internal exam would tell us something useful, it is explained in full first and only done if you say yes. Starting with external work is a real option, not a consolation prize.

No, and for some people more squeezing is exactly the wrong answer. A pelvic floor already holding too much tension has to learn to let go before it can get stronger, which is why squeezing harder can make those symptoms worse. That is what the evaluation is for: we find out which problem you have before we hand you anything to do.

That depends on your plan, and we would rather check than guess. We verify your exact benefits before your first session and tell you the real number, so nothing on your bill is a surprise. Questions before then? Call us at (504) 733-0254.
