About Leighton
Leighton is a licensed physical therapist at our Elmwood clinic in Harahan. Her care is creative and personal, built around what a patient actually needs and what they want back. She works thoughtfully and treats the whole person, pairing evidence-based practice with hands-on clinical skill. If you are navigating an injury, a long recovery, or a performance problem, she is a steady person to have on your side. Emma R. finished her course of care at Elmwood, where Leighton was one of the clinicians on her team: “Today I rang the bell and got my T-shirt because I graduated physical therapy at Magnolia Therapy!” Away from the clinic, Leighton travels with her husband, spends time with family, plays with her nephews, cooks and bakes, reads, plays piano, and stays active in her local church community.
Education and training
Leighton earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Before that she completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, with a concentration in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. She practices as Dr. Leighton Zeigler, DPT.
